Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
Provide HUD-VASH case management to Veterans and families in the HUD-VASH program Perform site visits of HUD-VASH apartments to ensure that Veterans reside in safe environments in compliance with local housing codes Verify the Veteran's status, eligibility for VA medical care, and eligibility of program participation Collect and submit HUD-VASH Program participant data Coordinate care including serving as an advocate on behalf of the Veterans to ensure comprehensive service delivery, and linking and referring Veterans to the VA Medical Center, VA Regional Offices and/or community agencies Participate in program planning and development, advising the supervisor of shifting tends with caseloads and identifying the need for and making recommendations on program procedure or policy changes based upon work experiences Perform accountability functions:
1) document all contacts with patients/families in the medical charts; 2) complete statistical and other reports in accordance with VA Medical Center and respective professional discipline service policies Work with VA Medical Center multi-disciplinary teams and community agencies to strive for developing more effective and efficient ways of delivering healthcare services to HUD-VASH Program Veterans Provide a full range of services within commonly accepted standards practice with includes case work, individual, family and group counseling, discharge planning, case management and other services as appropriate Provide consultation/education to Veterans and families on community resources, Advance Directives and VA benefits Supervise the practice of students, interns, or a less experienced Social Worker as appropriate Perform other related duties as assigned Work Schedule:

Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Policy. Grade Determinations:
In addition to the basic requirements of employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation). Experience, Education and Licensure - GS-12 Senior Social Worker:
Licensure/Certification. Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless you are grandfathered by the state in which you are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Experience/Education. You must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior social workers have experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. Senior social workers are experts in their specialized area of practice. Senior social workers may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty. Creditable
Experience:
To be creditable, the experience must have required the use of knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics associated with current professional social work practice. The experience or education must be post-MSW degree. Experience and education satisfying this requirement must be active professional practice, which is paid/non-paid employment as a professional social worker, as defined by the appropriate state licensing board. Experience is only creditable if it is obtained following graduation with a master's degree in social work and if it includes work as a professional social worker directly related to the position to be filled. Qualifying experience must also be at a level comparable to social work experience at the next lower level. Part-time experience as a professional social worker is creditable according to its relationship to the full-time work week. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience and licensure above, you must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
(a) Skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities used in specialty treatment programs or with special patient populations. This includes individual, group, and/or family counseling or psychotherapy and advanced level psychosocial and/or case management. (b) Ability to incorporate complex multiple causation in differential diagnosis and treatment within approved clinical privileges or scope of practice. (c) Knowledge in developing and implementing methods for measuring effectiveness of social work practice and services in the specialty area, utilizing outcome evaluations to improve treatment services and to design system changes. (d) Ability to provide specialized consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients in the service delivery area, as well as role modeling effective social work practice skills. (e) Ability to expand clinical knowledge in the social work profession, and to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines pertaining to the service delivery area. References:

The physical demands of this position involve primarily walking, talking, driving, use of the telephone, etc. Strenuous physical activity is not required although you may be expected to withstand pressure and stress as part of your day to day activities. There may be light lifting, pushing and pulling. NOTE:
The Incumbent is expected to maintain a valid driver's license and clearance to drive a government owned vehicle in accordance with VA Policy.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
