The current openings are in the San Gabriel Valley and South Bay areas.
We NOT looking at applicants from the North LA County area, Antelope Valley or Simi Valley.
Former Military, Law Enforcement are encouraged to apply.
No K9 Handler experience is required but it is a big plus.
( This doesn't include growing up with a dog, dog grooming or dog walker experience).
Please include a non indeed email address in your heading with a cell/text number A large majority of our client base is High Schools and Middle Schools so handlers must enjoy being around children of those age groups and you must pass an extensive background, including fingerprinting.
This job is fairly seasonal, however there is work year round, but due to schools making up our largest group of clients we do experience a slow period during Summer and around the Winter/Spring Break times.
We have searches 7 days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day.
Canine Handlers are assigned a trained non aggressive breed canine (Labrador and Golden Retrievers for example) they will certify with that dog and work as a team on a daily basis.
The canine will live with the handler and be cared for by the Handler 24/7/365.
Interquest pays for all dog food, associated work equipment and vet costs.
We also provide all uniform shirts and jackets.
A house check will be required prior to employment to ensure the residence meets the requirements for safely housing the dog.
(Fenced yard, no aggressive family/pet dogs) A brief overview of what we do:
Handlers are assigned a client list to prepare a monthly calendar lining up canine searches for each work day.
The Handler will establish a good relationship with those clients and ensure they get the required searches each month.
They then complete those searches going from their home to the assigned location/s utilizing their canine to detect and deter the presence of contraband items.
Any contraband located is turned over to the assigned contact person.
At the end of the search, all canine alerts are documented and later entered into a computer tracking system.
We do not arrest, detain or interrogate persons involved.

years old Valid California Drivers License/Insurance Reliable Transportation Fenced Yard Must like Dogs and Children No Felony Convictions No Misdemeanor Convictions for Narcotics, Violent or Sex Crimes Must be a Team Player Must be able to Read/Write English neatly and with proper spelling/grammar Must enjoy driving, we service all of LA County it is not uncommon to drive 35 miles to a search Must be available to work some weekends and occasional evenings.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
