As UVM Operations Supervisor, you will assume a pivotal role in the daily management of your team of five, overseeing Utility Vegetation Management operations.
Your primary responsibility lies in ensuring that each team member attains and maintains safety, quality, and production goals.
Integral to your role is the execution of audits to validate compliance with established standards.
A thorough understanding and application of all company policies and procedures are essential, with an obligation to enforce them when necessary.
As a leader within the organization, the UVM Operations Supervisor is inherently a support figure, readily addressing the needs, issues, and requests for assistance from team members.
Your position serves as a vital link between your team and upper management, embodying the role of a bridge that facilitates effective communication and collaboration.
This position demands a nuanced skill set encompassing operational oversight, adherence to standards, leadership, and interpersonal support.
The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the team's success by ensuring operational excellence, fostering a culture of compliance, and providing essential support to team members.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of 5 Utility Pre-Inspectors.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team's success.
- Oversee identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines.
- Review and approve vegetation assessments and mitigation work for utility clearance and protection.
- Act as a liaison between clients, and client customers.
- Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide detailed reports on vegetation management activities to clients and management.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development for the team.
- Conduct quality control audits on a regular basis for your team.
Requirements:
- 3 years of utility vegetation management experience - ISA Certified Arborist Designation is required for leadership positions.
- Tree Risk Assessor Qualification is required for leadership positions, can be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Insurable Valid Driver License.
