Summary:
As the Underground Utility Foreman, you will be responsible for leading and managing a crew of skilled workers in the installation, repair, and/or maintenance of underground utilities.
You will be required to operate heavy equipment, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time and under budget.
You will also be responsible for communicating with clients, inspectors and other stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns that arise.
This position requires a vast knowledge in water, sewer storm drain and dry utility installation.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform the installation, repair, and maintenance of wet utilities, including storm drainage systems, water mains, and sewer lines.
Operate heavy equipment and machinery, such as excavators, and backhoes, to excavate trenches, lay pipes, and backfill excavations.
Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and other technical documents.
Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Communicate regularly with clients, inspetors, and other stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns that arise.
Supervise and train crew members, ensuring that they are working safely and efficiently.
Coordinate Equipment, Crew and Material Needs with project management team Manage project schedules, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
Provide on time and complete paperwork, reports, and status updates.
Assure that all company vehicles, tools and equipment utilized on the job site are maintained in a clean condition and all tools are accounted for at the end of each day Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with a focus on wet utilities.
Experience in operating heavy equipment and machinery, such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and other technical documents.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage project schedules and budgets.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
