BASIC FUNCTION:
SOS Children's Villages California (SOSCVC) is a start-up organization, a new foster care village being created in Palmdale, California.
The Business Manager of SOSCVC is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term support of administrative and financial activities of SOS Children's Villages California (SOSCVC).
The Business Manager effectively and efficiently reports on and supports SOSCVC fiscal resources aligned with serving SOSCVC's mission.
The Business Manager position requires leadership which is reinforced through communication, respect, objectivity and sensitivity.
In this role one must be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment in consultation with the Executive Director and financial service provider as well as other staff.
The Business Manager must have unquestioned capability and integrity to work with confidential data and information; always considering the best interests of the organization as well as safeguarding corporate assets.
SOSCVC Business Manager must be a team player, flexible and capable of handling a range of assignments with underlying business acumen.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Serves as the leader to assure full, effective, and efficient business practices.

Works with designated outside financial service agent for SOSCVC to assist in the appropriate reporting process and ensures internal systems are followed to monitor service and financial activities, This includes coordinating and collaborating with the Executive Director with the designated outside financial service agent, 3.
Maintains close communication with Executive Director and designated outside financial service agent to assure effective and efficient systems so as to provide accurate and timely information to the appropriate parties.

Works directly with designated outside financial service agent to ensure monthly closings occur in a timely manner.
5.
Monitor internal controls related to separation of fiscal duties are followed.

Works with outside payroll service and monitors and submits all payroll activities in a timely manner.

Maintain internal donor tracking data and supports donor recognition process 8.
Works with Executive Director and Program Manager on donor correspondence as well as internal and external communication including website and other social media activities from time to time 9.
Meets on a regular basis with Executive Director and program manager to assure on going activities are coordinated and implemented in a timely manner 10.
Assists in the preparation of the budgets and other financial reports as required.

Assures the day-to-day operations are running smoothly and anticipates/communicates future necessary improvements 12.
Support review of written correspondence to a wide range of individual and organization including material for DCFS licensing and capital campaign material 13.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education Undergraduate degree preferred with coursework in business management, organizational management, accounting, and finance strongly preferred.
Coursework in social or human service highly desired.
Experience and knowledge Three years of management experience in either a small business or social service.
Account reconciliation, bookkeeping, budgeting and payroll practices working knowledge.
Software working knowledge.
Quicken.
Microsoft Office:
Excel, Word and Outlook (PowerPoint preferred).
Payroll software Proficiency in writing policies and procedures.
Competencies Ability to effectively relate to SOSCVC colleagues.
Strong and professional interpersonal skills including team building, team collaboration, excellent verbal and written communication and the capability to effectively and responsibly represent SOSCVC internally and externally.
Ability to receive, organize and achieve multiple priorities in alignment with the organization's mission.
